High Street Bridesmaid Dresses

I love weddings.

I always have done! I get excited when someone's wedding pics appear on my Facebook newsfeed, so I can scroll through and look at the dresses, the flowers, the cake. I'm pretty sure I've watched every episode of Four Weddings, and I love chatting with my friends about wedding themes, music and photography. Why? I don't know. I just do...

I was really pleased that my first wedding related post on The Secret Life of Maggie May was well received by readers - "Should bridesmaids have to pay for their dresses?" was a controversial topic choice, but that's what made it so fun to discuss!

So I'm back with my wedding hat on, here this afternoon to show you my favourite high street bridesmaid dresses - I thought this linked in well with my previous topic! There really are some gorgeous designs out there in some of our most loved shops; I hope you like the ones I have picked out today.

1. Debenhams - No. 1 Jenny Packham
Designer rose pink floral embellished midi dress
Currently half price, £70

This dress has everything you could possibly want in a bridesmaid's dress... Floaty with it's gorgeous chiffon; a soft, feminine pink colour, and a lovely length just below the knee.

Just look at the beautiful floral embellishment here... It's dreamy! The shape of the dress is also very flattering for all sizes.

2. BHS
Darcy Navy Long Dress
£95

I think that this dress is beautiful in its simplicity. Lots of couples choose to have a navy theme these days, and it is a colour which suits everyone!

I do like a long bridesmaid dress... The ruched bodice on this dress is also gorgeous. I have to say, BHS wouldn't have been the first place I would have looked for a bridesmaid dress, but this may have changed my mind!

3. House of Fraser - Coast
Allure Maxi Dress
£160

I think this one is my favourite of the lot (which is typical, as it's the most expensive). You can always rely on Coast for a gorgeous dress, and they've definitely delivered with this one. The corsage at the waist is removable if you'd rather not have it - but I think that adds the final touch!

This dress also has a ruched bodice, as well as enclosed boning. It has a detachable waist band ribbon tie and shoulder straps. That's enough of the facts: this dress is stunning. And what an unusual but beautiful grey/green colour, don't you think?

4. Next
£65

This berry shade is so very lovely - perfect for an autumn wedding. The dress is actually also available in Navy and Mink, which are both gorgeous too. I think this one looks quite 1920's/Great Gatsby!

In the picture below you can see what fantastic quality the material is. This deep berry shade would also look great incorporated into the groom and usher's suits - ideal!

So there you have it; my picks from the current bridesmaid dress selection on the high street. Let me know what you think of my choices - leave a comment, or tweet me @secretmaggiemay. Keep your eyes peeled for my next wedding themed post!
