This Week's '-ings'

It's JUNE! Yippee. Time to stock up on Pimms, fish out the Wayfarers and slap on some sun cream. We are going to have a hot summer this year in the UK, I'm sure of it.

Are you ready for this week's '-ings'? There's a bit of a summery theme going on with this post... I'm just so excited for some sun!

This week I'm:

Moisturising with: Nature's Extracts Indulgent Fig & Orange Oil Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream. £1, Marks and Spencer.

I love hand cream (which girl doesn't?), and was very pleased when I found this in my stocking on Christmas morning. Fig and orange oil is a heavenly combination... I have it in the bathroom next to the soap (coincidentally it matches my nail brush and toothbrush holder beautifully), and lots of our house guests will come out of the bathroom asking me where this lovely stuff is from. The answer - the wonderful Marks & Spencer Nature's Extracts range. All the products are fab, and make great gifts too.

Drinking: Rekorderlig cider. It's the first day of June today, which means it's officially the summer! And what a perfect way to spend a balmy summer's evening - sipping gorgeous Rekorderlig in the sunshine. This cider is one of my favourites (although more expensive than other ciders, it's so worth it!) and they have plenty of flavours to choose from, depending on your taste. My favourite is the classic Apple, as I'm not the biggest fan of sweeter ciders, but if that's your sort of thing you'll love their Strawberry-Lime, Passionfruit and Wild Berries flavours. Bottoms up!

Travelling with: Cath Kidston Little Birds Travel Wallet. £18, Cath Kidston. My friends always joke about my love for Cath Kidston products, and how our whole flat is starting to look like one of the shop window displays. But I don't think that's a bad thing! Yes, yes, I admit; I am a bit addicted to CK. And I'm not ashamed.

My latest purchase from them? In time for my summer holidays, this practical and stylish travel wallet.

I was going to get just a passport cover, but like the fact I can store my passport AND my currency in here too, along with my boarding pass and tickets.

And guess what? They only went and popped in one of their AMAZING Provence Rose hand creams into my package as a little gift. And you all know how much I love rose scented toiletries.

Clicking on: gettingpersonal.co.uk I've used Getting Personal for a long time now; it's so good for cards and birthday presents, personalised or not. I've just ordered some brilliant Father's Day cards from them - the thing I like about this site is there are cards to suit everybody, whether you have a slightly naughty relative who will appreciate a dirty joke, or a best friend you want to make smile with a photo upload card. I couldn't resist having a little play with the wine glasses...

I can just see me sipping wine from this whilst blogging!

Wearing: My beloved dichroic sunshine necklace.

This was a 21st birthday present from my parents - they bought it from a glass artist in Greece. My pics don't show how the glass catches the light and gives off lots of different colours; if you've not seen dichroic pieces before, they really are something else.

I love wearing it with a white top or dress, as it shows up the colours beautifully. Dichroic jewellery is showing up a lot more now at markets and craft fairs; all I would say is that there is a big difference in quality between the cheaper glass art and the more expensive pieces, as you'd expect.

Eating: Ben & Jerry's Greek Style Frozen Yoghurt in Raspberry Chocolatey Chunk. I love Ben & Jerry's so much. There's that joke, isn't there; "I'm having a night in with my two favourite men, yeah. Ben and Jerry. HAHAHA!" Well, whether you find that joke funny or not (I'll be honest, it's not hilarious), you will find this fro-yo absolutely divine. The raspberry is so zingy and fresh tasting - ideal for summer - but you still get a whopping chocolate hit from the generous helping of chunks. Seriously, put a few tubs of this in your shopping basket ASAP.

Organising with: Typewriter Compact Week to View Diary 2014/15. £4.50, Paperchase.

I love Paperchase so much; whenever I walk past, I can't help nipping in to gaze at all the beautiful stationery and gifts. So when I needed to buy a new diary (I use mid-year diaries which run out in July), I knew straight away where I would buy it from. I didn't know, however, that Paperchase sell these compact diaries, which measure 100x105mm and are so cute and little that they weigh nothing! The hard part was choosing which design to go for... I opted for the pretty Typewriter design above, but I also really like the Anchors Ahoy one.

That's it for this week's '-ings'! Follow me on Twitter @secretmaggiemay to read my daily tweets - until then, happy Sunday!
