This Week's '-ings'

Hello to my lovely blog readers! It's a Sunday, which means it's time for this week's '-ings'. I hope you like reading my '-ings' - I like writing them, as I think it's a great way to sum up my favourite things from the last 7 days! It's always great to have feedback from you guys though, so please feel free to comment on this blog post with your thoughts. If you enjoy reading my '-ings', you can find previous ones here.

This week I'm:

Reading: Glamour.

 Magazine cover

I love reading Glamour magazine each month, and am very pleased that I have just renewed my subscription. My July issue has just arrived, and I can't wait to read about all the 'Women of the Year' winners. This magazine is great for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and healthy living tips - so basically, everything I write about on my blog! Click here if you want to buy a subscription, or you can tweet them @GlamourMagUK.

Listening to: My summer playlist! I've been busy this week updating my iPod in time for my holiday, and it's been fun picking which songs I want to listen to. My favourites currently are John Legend's All of Me, Rita Ora's I Will Never Let You Down and Fun's Carry On.

I also LOVE Shades by Tales In Space. I've included a link to the YouTube video here so you can have a listen and agree with me that this is an awesome song.

Eating: Chicken Caesar salad. Oh so yum, and oh so easy. It took me about four minutes to whip this up; I just bought a bag of sweet and crunchy salad, and added to it some cooked chicken, shavings of Grana Padano, garlic and herb croutons, extra virgin olive oil, diced cucumber and of course, Caesar dressing. This is a great dinner to have up your sleeve, as you can use whatever salad-y bits you have in your fridge.

Who said salad was boring? Because this one certainly isn't.

Spritzing: Diamonds, Emporio Armani. £49.50 for 50ml EDP, available from The Perfume Shop.
This perfume is described as being a 'floral oriental' scent, which I think sums it up well. I feel very luxurious whenever I put it on; whether that's because it's called 'Diamonds', because I remember the advert which included Beyonce singing 'Diamonds are a girl's best friend', or because the bottle itself is designed to look like a diamond, I'm not sure. Whatever the reason, this is a lovely fragrance which, as an added bonus, looks gorgeous on your dressing table. Time to start dropping hints for your birthday, I think... Fellas, if you find yourself on this page having been directed here by your other half, and are unsure why, this is why: BUY HER SOME ARMANI DIAMONDS. She would like some, please.

Coveting: Floret Glitter Heels in Ballerina. £180, LK Bennett, available in sizes 35-42.

I. Adore. These. So. Much. Aren't they amazing? It's no surprise seeing as they are from LK Bennett, who, let's face it, know exactly what they're doing when it comes to footwear. These stunning court shoes would look fantastic with summery dresses and skirts in the evenings (and this pink shade complements tans beautifully), but I would wear these with my jeans to glam up an outfit in the daytime too. LK Bennett, if you're listening, I'm a size 36. Thank you!

Recommending: Wikaniko. This is a UK company which sells a range of eco-friendly products, including household, beauty, cleaning, make up and lots more. I know lots of my blog readers are fans of 'going green' and doing their bit for the environment, in which case shopping with Wikaniko is ideal. And the good news? I've tried out the products, and they're good! I can recommend the Pardon Me Odour Eliminator which is just excellent at getting rid of the smell of fajitas in our flat (we do like fajitas, but they are smelly) and also the Stainless Steel Soap Bar - if you're like me and do a lot of cooking, this is great for getting rid of the pesky garlic smell that tends to cling to your hands for days, no matter how many times you wash them.

Exercising and relaxing with: Yoga. This week, I have turned to yoga to help me in my work breaks. Even if it is just trying some deep breathing for a few minutes, it can be very good for de-stressing and taking a time out. Never tried yoga before? Don't worry, I'm definitely not a yoga master in any sense! But this article from The Huffington Post is quite a good starting point with some energy boosting poses, and the other thing that's good for beginners is Wii Fit Plus. Wow, have I spent a lot of time on there this week - I just hope I remember to close the blinds each time, otherwise my neighbours will have a right laugh at me falling off the balance board repeatedly...
