For today's post, I have very nobly offered up this ridiculous picture of myself for my readers' enjoyment. Aren't I a good sport?
Ignoring the fact that I look pretty comical, the snap is pretty good for illustrating my current focus - trying to look good. Generally.
Now I admit, it may be too early to be thinking about it, but I don't want to leave sorting myself out until a few days before our wedding, and then realise that the regimes that would have worked a treat for my skin, hair etc. should have been initiated several weeks previously...
That's why I'm currently working on improving certain features, trying out different products, and getting advice from various sources {girlfriends}. It may all seem a little vain, but don't we all want to look good from time to time?

It may be January, it may be flippin' freezing outside, and we may still be feeling a little poor/bloated post-Christmas, but there is at least one thing this month that can cheer us up - awards season!
Those of you who are regular visitors to my blog will know that I always enjoy browsing through the beautiful dresses which grace the red carpets at these events (see here and here), and the recent Golden Globes were no exception.
Known as the slightly more relaxed and light-hearted awards compared to the BAFTAs and Oscars, I enjoy the fact that the celebrities' choice of dresses often reflect that more casual feel. The gorgeous amount of Marchesa at this year's ceremony has led me to gazing at my computer screen adoringly many times (see here for yet another one of their amazing creations) and I loved the hair and beauty looks, particularly Zendaya's and Jenna Dewan Tatum's.

Winter, eh? I love the hot chocolates, the snuggly jumpers, the stylish and comfortable boots and the cosy nights in, but I really hate what it does to my hair and skin. I'm sure I'm not the only one!
My hair is just SO FRIZZY at the moment. The thing is, not only do our lovely locks get damaged and dried out in the freezing cold weather, but also our sudden amping up of the central heating does our hair no good at all. Add all that to the fact that we wear a lot of scarves in the winter months, which if you have fine hair like me wreak absolute havoc, and you can end up with a very sorry looking head of hair.
And that's not all (seriously, men have no idea). What about our skin?! As my Twitter followers may already know, I have had really sore, dry hands for the last few days - and now I've noticed some dry patches of skin appearing on my face too. Finally, don't we all suffer from that age old problem of chapped lips when the weather turns cold?
Fear not. I have not written this blog post just so I can have a whinge, but because I wanted to share with you some of my hair and beauty saviours which are helping me through this exceedingly difficult time. (OK, maybe a tad dramatic)

Good evening! For the last hour or so I have been manically running around my bedroom, doing some last minute packing for my trip to Cornwall.
I'm so excited! Top of the agenda for me is Falmouth; I've heard from so many people how beautiful it is - I can't wait to get snapping with my camera and having a look in all the independent shops and boutiques I've heard so much about.
Anyhow, I will fill you all in on how my travels went on my return... Tonight I thought I would just share with you a glimpse of what I'm taking with me. It's always fun to snoop through other people's luggage, isn't it?
My hair is fine - really fine. When I step out of the house in the mornings, my hair instantly ties itself in knots - and don't even get me started on how it gets when I wear scarves!
I'd simply accepted my tangly-haired fate, allowing extra time everyday to comb through my mid-length locks with a slight grimace on my face. And then, something amazing came along - a product which has cut my getting ready time down by about 15 minutes!
